Lynne & Hamd – Wedding at Otterburn Hall, Northumberland
I look back at my work and reflect on what kind of photographer I am. I’d like to think of myself as a journalistic-photographer who covers all grounds from preparation shots right down to the detail shots; but most of all, I like capturing ‘defining’ moments. Sometimes they happen so quickly that with a bit of luck & observation, you are lucky enough to get the shot. The above is one of my most memorable shots this year.
It was a moment after Lynne’s dad gave her a touching speech, and Lynne went over to give him a hug, but before long, she was overwhelmed with emotions and gratitude, and cried in her father’s arms. I love this shot. It is so heart-warming, moving and the expression in her father’s eyes tells it all. It’s rare that I come across moments as touching as this between a father & his daughter. It almost felt like the father has ‘given away’ his daughter on her wedding day, yet I am sure, deep down inside, he’s very happy that she’s found another kind of happiness in her life. It was an unforgettable moment.
Lynne and Hamd are such a down to earth couple. Apart from the shots list, they didn’t have any requests in terms of the photo taking. There wasn’t any pressure at all. The wedding went so smooth. All the guests were enjoying themselves. Anyway, I am sure you had a fantastic time in your honeymoon in Bali and Hong Kong. Thank you so much for putting your trust on me. Thank you for all the groomsmen and bridesmaids. You guys were fabulous!!

What a lovely dress from Maggie Sottero. I love its simplicity and beauty.
I was told that they have been good friends for more than 15 years.
Beautiful bride and bridesmaids.
One of the Groomsmen bought a box of beautiful cigars from Mauritius. They have the labels of the Couple’s name.
Love this moment between the father and daughter.
Father & daughter marching-in. Hamd, the groom turned to look at his beautiful bride.
I do. Lynne had tears in her eyes.
Congratulations from groomsmen!
This chair was for me take the elevated group shots – but this cute little boy was sitting on it 🙂
After the father’s speech, Lynne was in tears. She went over to give her father a hug…
… all of a sudden, it got got too emotional for Lynne.
One of my challenge on the day was to ask Hamd to smile. Yeah, he finally did that :).
Last but not least, I’d like my second photographer and assistant Tommy for his hard work and dedication for helping me out in the wedding.
