Kodak Wedding and Portrait Awards 2009 Finalists

We are pleased to say that two of Ken’s prints have been selected as finalists in a Kodak Wedding and Portrait Awards 2009.  This is his first attempt to enter such a prestigious competition.  Over 2000+ prints were entered into this competition, therefore, it was really tough to get through to this final stage.  He is very delighted to be amongst the top 20 in the finals to get the Kodak Wedding Photographer of the Year 2009 title, and being the only photographer from the North East in the final as well. The result will be announced next month.  Below are the winning images. Kodak Wedding Photographer Of The Year…

    Joy & Tears

I am happy that wedding assignments has brought me to Paris, Venice, Rome, Cambridge, London and Spain so far.  It is not about the places I’ve been.  It is about having the opportunities to capture all the gorgeous couples in these wonderful locations.  I’ve got to say that every couple is unique.  Thank you for giving me the chances to witness one of your important moments in life.  You guys have given me lots of Joy and Tears in many occasions.  I am happy to see couples saying their vows to each other.  I have to admit that  sometimes it is really really hard for me to hold back my tears too. Below are some of the wedding photographs that I took in June.  Enjoy.  I…

Thank you for the thank you gifts

It is lovely to receive gifts from clients.  I received all these recently.  You guys make it all worthwhile. Thank you so much. Thank you Andrew and Eunice for this surprising Lowepro bag.  You guys are so thoughtful.  It is exactly something that I need 🙂 Thank you Sino and Gary for these lovely food and the mouse cushion from Thailand.  Shirley has finished eating most of them 🙂 Thank you Joyce and Edward for bringing this all the way from Hong Kong. I was touched when you gave me these in the restaurant in Paris.

    A big surprise to Venice

I still remember contacting Anie, the wife of world renowned wedding photographer: Yervant, in March regarding his photography workshop to be held in Venice from 4th-7th May.  I knew that I will probably miss a few hours of the workshop if I decided to go to the workshop as it starts on the Monday morning.   Since I had to photoshoot Suzanne and Paul’s wedding at Linden Hall on Sunday (the day before the workshop), so I gave up the idea of attending altogether 🙁 A few days ago, on Friday, Shirley suddenly handed me an A4 size envelope with a beautiful red & black ribbon on it.  I said:  “What is that?”  She told me to open…

    Chasing my dream.

You never know what you have until it is gone.  When life is going along smoothly, many people have a tendency to take good health for granted along with every other wonderful gift that is being enjoyed at the time.  However, when good health is threatened, it doesn’t take long to realise that nothing else in the world is as important or matters so much. I do not want to see myself working too hard and breakdown one day. After a whole year of working on two full-time jobs, being a full time Network Engineer for British Telecoms (BT), the largest Telecom PLC in UK, AND a freelance wedding photographer…
