A Groovy Kind of Love: Meeting Damien & Julie Lovegrove
My first photography seminar of the year 2008 was attending the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) convention at Novotel, London on 19th January. Amongst all the exhibitors that were there, one person stood out – I met the highly respected wedding photographer – Damien Lovegrove! Damien and his wife Julie Lovegrove are top wedding photographers in UK. Damien, your book is awesome! I was going through it today, and was excited when I saw the photo of a wedding you took at Wedderburn Castle in Scotland – as I’m going there for an assignment in September. Although I only spent a short time with you, you have given…

My love, my motivation all come from…
I have been working so hard for Ken Lam Photography for the past few months. Everytime I receive emails from clients, I become so excited and start to think what I am going to do for them on their big day (even before they booked me 🙂 ha ha ). I then start to do research of the wedding venue, nice scenery around etc. I will try and picture the wedding venue in my mind first. Meeting world-class wedding photographers: Jeff Ascough & Marcus Bell
Photography is a life-long learning journey. Every wedding photography session that I’ve been on has offered me with different sights and something new I’ve never discovered before. On July 24th, I’m travelling to Manchester to attend a wedding photography seminar held at Hilton hotel, by 2 of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world: Jeff Ascough from UK and Marcus Bell from Australia. Jeff is well-known for using natural light, and Marcus for his beautiful and dramatic wedding portfolio. It will be an honour and rare opportunity to meet them so I’m really looking forward to this seminar! I wonder what they will say about my portfolio?

Thank you, butterflies
Calvin, one of our friends, shared with us a time when his teacher once described him as a “butterfly” – a creature that works very hard for objects around them such as the flowers to get the glory and beauty, the butterfly then flies away silently. This reminds us of the people who have helped us make our wedding such a beautiful memory. We would like to call them our “butterflies” and we dedicate this article to them.

My wedding photographer and friend – Lawrence Tsang
Last month in December, I had the privilege to meet one of my favourite wedding photographers in Hong Kong, Lawrence Tsang. When they say Lawrence is a nice person on the forums, various other photographers’ website, they are telling the truth! He is not only a superb photographer, he is a very warm person and the first photographer from HK whom I can share my photography interest with. Sometimes when I have special photography assignments such as a subject that I have never photographed before, I would ring Lawrence and ask him what he thought about my approach. He would give me very valuable advices and share with me his…
