Susie & John – Pre-wedding in Venice
Around a year ago, my wife had a reunion with one of her old friends, Shirley Kong from high school. They were both at the same school in Brunei, but we were especially surprised when she told us that she was also based in Newcastle (same city as us!) It is true when they say that “it is a small world afterall”!
We met Shirley for dinner one night, and she told us that we had to meet her friend, Susie, who is said to like my work a lot. She expressed her interest in “pre-booking” me as her wedding and pre-wedding photographer when she & her partner John ties the knot. At the time I felt very honoured because I haven’t met Susie yet. A year later, the proposal happened in Hong Kong! … and true to her words, Susie asked me to provide her the photography booking forms!
Susie & John’s venue of choice for their pre-wedding is Venice, an island where all the buildings are built on water. One of the most unique cities in the world, there is no cars on the island, just many little bridges and little shops. With colorful walls, orchaestra playing classical music, gondolas in water, it’s hard not to fall in love with this romantic city.
When it came to the photoshoot, I couldn’t help but felt a bit under pressure. I know Susie has invested a lot of time in her pre-wedding preparation, and being a surgeon, as with all outstanding doctors, Susie expects the highest of standards. So I really hope you will like these photographs!
Thank you very much Susie & John for your warm and generous hospitality in Venice. We had a really wonderful time!
Behind the scenes…
Recently, I have been to Venice, Glasgow and now in Paris… Just finished blogging in a Cafe, feel so tired but very enjoyable … stay tuned 🙂
If you want to catch up with Ken Lam photography, please do support Ken by joining his facebook page.
Even without viewing the immaculate photo samples from Venice, both Susie and I would like to thank the Lam Trio (Ken, Ling and “Junior”) for such dedication to their artistry.
It is difficult not to be impressed / infected with your enthusiasm and genuine passion for photography. I am just glad that we sought your services before your fees go through the roof! Judging from the your ever impressive portfolio (aside from my appearance in the odd photo), you will require Junior Lam’s help very soon.
Speak to you soon.
All the best,
p.s. Remember to eat / sleep once in a while!
Echoing what John has already mentioned above, I would like to hereby express my sincere thanks to my friends, Ken and Ling (+wee one), for working the magic during the time in Venice. It’s not an exaggeration at all to say that Ken is a genius in Wedding Photography. No doubt he’ll make himself a huge name in the international arena soon. His undeniable passion towards photography, attention to every detail have shone through each photo. His inspiring use of lights and creativity in composition have made each of his photos an artistic masterpiece. (In my humble opinion though, your Venice portfolio would be more a great piece if I as the subject were a more aesthetically pleasing individual in real life!)
Ling (+wee one), with you guys all the works in Venice have been brilliantly enhanced and thanks ever so much for putting up the heat and doing the runs with us. Ling, your makeup skills kicked ass!! Which future client would need a professional makeup artist on a destination photoshoot when you are around?
Ken, Ling (+wee one) – love you guys and see yous all again very soon. John and I just can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.
Most honoured to be your friends.
Ken, your photography skills are getting better and better. I really like some of the photos in this Venice pre-wedding (I’m not only saying this because the subjects are my friends). My favourite is Susie with her veil.
Keep up the good work and do take care of yourself, ling and baby too!
Hope to see you soon.
