    A Visit to Leicester

I haven’t seen Anil since he came back to UK after attending our wedding in Hong Kong. It was great to meet him, his parents and sister. It took me about 4 hours to drive to Leicester from Newcastle (including short break for 1 hour in service). It was a great re-union. It felt like when we were in Hong Kong again. Not only we had chance to see him, but also his lovely parents and sister. While I was there, we also did a family portrait photoshoot for them. After meeting Anil and his family, now I understand why he is so healthy because his mum’s cooking is just second…

    Two Destination Weddings, One Goal

I am really looking forward to the two destination weddings booked for Prague and Wedderburn Castle in Scotland! Every wedding photoshoot I’ve done has been a unique and refreshing experience for me, and has allowed me to grow as a wedding photographer.Although these two places are quite different and glamourous in their own ways, I always have one goal in my mind, that is, through my photography, I try to portray beauty, happiness and love. I would love to cover more destination weddings in countries such as Switzerland, Greece, Italy, France (Paris), and England (UK). “Destination weddings” also includes the opportunity for couples to take their “pre-wedding” photos. Since I currently…

A Groovy Kind of Love: Meeting Damien & Julie Lovegrove

My first photography seminar of the year 2008 was attending the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) convention at Novotel, London on 19th January. Amongst all the exhibitors that were there, one person stood out – I met the highly respected wedding photographer – Damien Lovegrove! Damien and his wife Julie Lovegrove are top wedding photographers in UK. Damien, your book is awesome! I was going through it today, and was excited when I saw the photo of a wedding you took at Wedderburn Castle in Scotland – as I’m going there for an assignment in September. Although I only spent a short time with you, you have given…

My love, my motivation all come from…

I have been working so hard for Ken Lam Photography for the past few months. Everytime I receive emails from clients, I become so excited and start to think what I am going to do for them on their big day (even before they booked me 🙂 ha ha ). I then start to do research of the wedding venue, nice scenery around etc. I will try and picture the wedding venue in my mind first. I treat every wedding job like my own wedding I am 100% committed, and always have high expectations in exploring new ways and photography techniques as I do not want to capture similar style…

    Membership of Wedding Photojournalist Association

Two days ago, I jumped from my seat when I saw an e-mail entitled “Welcome to the WPJA” from the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), a prestigious photography association based in the US. According to WPJA, only less than 5% of the world’s photographer get accepted into this association. The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography. Therefore, when I received this news, I feel extremely flattered that I am now officially recognised as a “True and professional wedding…
