Sam & Reuben – Wedding at Beamish Park Hotel, Beamish

    January 5, 2009 /

Sam and Reuben by kenlamphotography I was very pleased when Sam and Reuben asked me to be their wedding photographer for their beautiful wedding, held at the St. James Church in Riding Mill, followed by the reception at Beamish Park Hotel. As the saying goes, it is a small world afterall. Sam comes from Hong Kong and Reuben, from Bombey. They met in the UK, at a mutual friend’s gathering. Since meeting Sam and finishing his studies at Sunderland University, Reuben did not want to move back to Bombey. He told his father, that he had met a Chinese girl and wanted to marry her 🙂 The wedding was filled…

    Fiona & Selwyn – Pre-wedding Photoshoot Prague – Day 1

    December 17, 2008 /

Pre-wedding/Engagement Photoshoot location:  Prague City Centre Dress: Dorian Ho Many people have asked to see more photos of the pre-wedding/engagement photo shoot in Prague.  Here they are, as I am currently processing the photographs taken for Fiona and Selwyn. In the past, there were many clients who have asked me the same question: “Ken, is this a good location (e.g. London, Paris, Newcastle, York, Cambridge, Prague, Greece) to take pictures?  Shall we go to this other place instead of this? I believe every place is unique.  It really depends on how you see and feel it.  I appreciate every single place that I have been to.  If it is new to me, I would like to explore it even more.  There…

    A Moment Like This…

    November 14, 2008 /

After 10 months into my 2008 assignments, I finally found the time to upload my latest wedding portfolio onto the new home page. These are photographs taken this year. Having only done 3 advertisements this year, I am having 6 clients’ backlogs! I guess it’s good that I’m not twiddling my thumb not knowing what else to do on a quiet weekend. This year, I am so fortunate to meet clients with wonderful personalities, but most importantly there is one commonality amongst most of them*; they say: “We want someone to freeze all these moments (at our wedding). These are not just ordinary photographs, these are photographs to last a…

Sam & Reuben – Wedding at Beamish Park Hotel, Newcastle

    November 7, 2008 /

Found these seashells from a display set in the newly wed’s home.  Could these be mementos from a romantic holiday they had together?  I thought that it was nice to match these up with the wedding rings. Sam is a teacher and Reuben is professional videographer.  Sam comes from Hong Kong and Reuben comes from Bombey in India.  During the speech, Reuben’s boss asked why of all places in UK he chose to study at Sunderland University! 🙂
